More Parking, Parking, Parking

Arturo Pina from Councilman Bill Rosendahl’s office wanted to answer Kari Peck’s question regarding a van parked across the street from her house.  I asked Arturo to address all.  He also mentions the forthcoming “chat” with the Coastal Commission in June and what it will mean to Venice residents.

From Arturo Pina

Hello,
I wanted to comment on Kari Peck’s issue with Van’s parked in the neighborhood on behalf of Councilmember Bill Rosendahl.

Currently the city does offer an Oversized Vehicle Restriction for neighborhoods. That restriction bans Oversized Vehicles from 2am – 6am that are 7 feet high or 22 feet long. This restriction can be acquired via a petition process that would require signatures from residents on the street/block. Petitions can easily be picked up at the council office or via email.

Also, the City is concluding settlement discussions with the California Coastal Commission. This settlement will be heard at the June meeting of the Coastal Commission. As some folks may know, the city would like to offer Overnight Permit Parking Districts to our constituents that live west of Lincoln Boulevard. Coastal has challenged the City’s ability to do so. In June, a final determination will be made.

Thank you.
