Diana A of Milwood Walk Streets area …Thanks for spreading the word. Can’t believe closing Lincoln & Sepulveda would not affect Santa Monica, Westwood as well as Venice.
Jody E of Santa Clarita, formerly of Oxford …Years ago I predicted that MDR and Venice would in some years become a ridiculously overpopulated slum. With the closing of Lincoln and Sepulveda and the mad dash for homeowners now living there to GET OUT (assuming they could find a hapless buyer who wants to live in Nightmareland), it will be happening even faster than I thought.
Joan W of Silver Triangle area …Thank you so much for providing this information on the purposed runway crossing Lincoln Blvd and Henry Waxman’s endorsement of said plan. I have called his local office to register my concern and have asked to have someone call me about scheduling a meeting with him when he is next in town. It is unlikely he will agree to meet but perhaps we can get a surrogate to do so.
This cannot happen.
Nate K of Councilman Rosendahl’s Office …Unfortunately, this is true. We were sad to learn that Congressman Waxman took this position. Any effort to move the runways further north, however, will be met by opposition from this office and the surrounding Westchester/Playa del Rey communities. Moving the runway will cause many years of gridlock on the west side of Los Angeles because Sepulveda and Lincoln would have to be reconfigured. Feel free to call me if you want to discuss more.

Eileen P E of Milwood Walk Streets area …I called Congressman Waxman’s office to protest, and the staffer that answered said “it (Lincoln and Sepulveda Blvds.) won’t be completely closed.” I responded by asking if he’d driven either Lincoln or Sepulveda Boulevards recently, where gridlock is already a problem, and many times you can only move forward one block per signal change. He agreed, “Oh yes, totally.” I told him that modernizing LAX to impact either Lincoln or Sepulveda Boulevards for any length of time, to any extent, would be a tremendous negative impact on the community. He ended up saying he was “happy to pass my message along.”
I agree with you and Marta Evry in urging everyone who reads this to call Waxman’s office to register their concern.
Rick F of Rose Avenue area …From my across the street neighbor, the St Joseph Center.YOW! Add your own comments if you wish………. http://www.yelp.com/biz/st-joseph-center-venice
Karen B of Del Rey area …Lincoln has become a parking lot – north and south. Who is responsible for letting all those developers build hundreds of apartment/condo units in this area without thinking about the traffic ramifications?????
