Panhandler Stabs Tourist over Picture in Hollywood

PH1, email, inernet

Both panhandlers pictured with signs, in both photos,  were at the Venice Beach boardwalk Sunday.  Both wanted $1 for taking their picture.

Panhandler stabbed a tourist last week in Hollywood because she took a picture and apparently refused to pay him $1.  Venice is filled with take-my-pic-for-a-$1 gimmicks for panhandlers.   Some are aggressive.

Tuesday of last week a 23-year-old woman from Lynwood was on Hollywood Blvd at Highland and took a picture of a panhandler with a sign.  He got upset that she didn’t pay him a $1 for the photo.  He got so upset he fatally stabbed her.      http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-lapd-plans-crackdown-after-woman-killed-in-hollywood-tourist-area-20130621,0,2399099.story

Months ago this writer was about to take a picture of a Venice Beach Boardwalk area where several inebriated sellers were displaying their cardboard signs.  They had made these signs with panhandlers in mind to get the $1.  Business was good apparently so they decided to let the tourists in on some of these gems.

Wanted to take picture of enterprise, but seller was so upset at the sight of my camera, he overturned the table and the tourists immediately scattered.
