Venice Neighborhood Council (VNC) has initiated a free electronic recycling program. The plan is to have an E-Truck available at Venice Farmer’s Market, 500 N Venice Blvd, first Friday of each month, starting this Friday (5 July) from 7 to 11am. E-waste is electronic hardware.
According to VNC via Electrtonic Recycling Solutions: “Each person generates an average of 12 pounds of E-Waste per year. Only 15% of that E-Waste gets recycled. Seventy percent of people stockpile unwanted electronics in their garage. The rest ends up in landfills taking up space and leaching toxic chemicals into the groundwater.”
