Los Angeles Pacific Division (LAPD) invites entire community to “join us” 6 August for National Night Out from 5 to 8 pm at Mar Vista Recreation Center, 11430 Woodbine Street, Mar Vista. LAPD will have a BBQ, softball game, movie etc.
LA County Marina Del Rey Sheriff will have their National Night Out same day from 5 – 8pm at Ladera Park (6027 Ladera Park Avenue) and all are invited.
On Tuesday neighborhoods will join with neighborhoods throughout the nation in bringing about a greater awareness to crime and drug prevention.
National Night out is designed to: (1) Strengthen police-community partnerships and neighborhood spirit, (2) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, (3) generate support for and participation in local anticrime programs.
On this night all of our citizens will receive safety and crime prevention tips. The program will create a greater awareness on how a neighborhood block watch can create a safer community.
