Amy A of Abbot Kinney area …
I needed some groceries yesterday but I couldn’t leave my house, which is just off Abbot Kinney, because it would be unlikely I’d find a parking space after coming home. Why? Because scummy business people like those running Gjelina use antique zoning codes to open and run restaurants that provide zero parking for the hundreds and hundreds of people they bring in nightly and their over 100 employees. Yes, that’s right. Gjlena increases its profits by not having to do what businesses normally do — provide parking for their customers. Instead, they just eat up our residential parking. Because you CAN abuse residents in this way doesn’t mean you should. Anyone who patronizes Gjelina is supporting this unethical behavior.

Now the city is maybe going to put in metered parking in the city lots — feet away from “free” residential parking? Well, gee, wonder what will happen? Might people drive 10 feet to save the cost of parking and make it utterly impossible for those of us who live here to leave our homes and get parking at any time that is not 3 am?

I love it. Today I must have picked up after 6 dogs. As if I didn’t have my own 3 to pick up after, which I chose to. I love dogs. It’s the owners that are a pain in the ass. One town in Spain sends the morsels back to the owners, gift wrapped.

Heather K of Thatcher …
I love how beautiful plants in the parkway can be cited, but not people sleeping, defecating, camping out in a similar area. High volume businesses can be built with no parking requirements, but a resident can be towed with their own car in front of their own house if more than 72 hours. Neighborhood and city priorities
are so backwards. Awesome. I find the parkways creative and beautiful. Anyone who has a problem with them needs to get a life.

Peter G of Oxford …
OFW is a worldwide tourist destination.
Very little is spent to advertise it yet it is so popular worldwide.
The city must act quickly to protect its vitality and pedestrian access before it suffers the fate of Westwood.
Just one tourist killed will a curse make to the country of origin.

Yolanda G of Venice Blvd …
For the first time in a long time we got hit with Graffiti on my garage doors on our alley in Venice and Abbot Kinney. These thugs are back again to cause harm to our community. I know the police try hard, but this goes to show you all the money being dumped into gang intervention is not justified or preventive. Where are our organizations in Venice benefiting from gang intervention programs at?

Another item I would like to touch on is all these murals going up on private property with no permits or neighborly input. My tenants are sick of the ugly illegal murals. This is not art. It is crap. This is what starts bringing in blight, property values down, and disrespect among neighbors. Entitlements is the name of the game. This is how these thugs get away with their graffiti on private property.

Cheri N of Berkeley …
Some homeless fellow threw trash all over my property on Berkeley.
