Canal Bollards or What’s Left

Photo and information are from anonymous contact in the canals.

Photo shows what is left of three plastic (or similar-type material) bollards at the corner of Venice Blvd and Dell Ave.  This is the second replacement.  What is left of the bollards shown were there for four years.  They were placed there to prevent people from turning off Venice onto Dell, which is a one-way street.

According to the source, the bollards were placed there mainly to prevent residents of Court E from using wrong-way Dell as a short cut and others from trying to turn into the one-way street from Venice Blvd.

“But, the bollards didn’t last long,” according to source.  “They were plastic.  They really served no protection … just a reminder to those who obey traffic regulations.

“You need steel pipes, spaced for a wheel chair and/or double wide stroller to pass through, for protection.”
