Mar Vista Community “Fall Festival” will be held at the Mar Vista Park, 11430 Woodbine Ave., Saturday (19 Oct) from 10 am to 4 pm.  Theme this year is Celebrating the Arts and there will be a silent auction.  The festival is sponsored by the Mar Vista Community Council.

“This is the largest annual event in Mar Vista,” wrote Debbie Rochlin, editor of the Mar Vista neighborhood newsletter. “This year’s theme is Celebrating the Arts to honor and celebrate all the wonderful talent we have in our community.  Why not come out of a day of entertainment and to support your community.”

They are going to have “painters, potters, performance artists, photographers, prints on paper, plywood and plastic.”  Several of the local school students will be performing in chorus, band, jazz ensemble, dance troupe, improv, and cheerleading.

There will be a silent auction of such items as LAPD souvenir items, Whole Foods basket, personal training sessions, etc.  Silent auction provides funds for supporting the Mar Vista Recreation Center and to pay for festival costs.
