Land Use and Planning Committee (LUPC) packed them in 21 December to hear three Venice developments–Firestone-Walker Brewery, Abbot Kinney Hotel, and 1414 Main Street. Wednesday (15 Jan) starting at 6:45 at the Oakwood Recreational Center, 767 California LUPC will hear these three again plus 758 Sunset Ave, a small-lot subdivision.
All of these state that there will be a motion made for consideration, which is a board vote for “yes” or “no” recommendation to be given to the Venice Neighborhood Council at their next meet, 21 January.
Rick Garvey, who spearheaded opposition to 1414, said “Some think there will be just a vote and others don’t, so I guess, we shall see. Also heard that it will be open to public comment and not just limited to those who signed cards at the last meet but ran out of time.”
These three projects are major projects for Venice. Each covers one block.
