Antonia Lofaso, executive chef and partner of Scopa, has been most cooperative in getting to the bottom of accusation that Scopa employees park in Triangle.
Two residents have stated that Scopa employees park on Thatcher and Howard. One resident talked with Scopa. Another resident said she did not want to reach out to Scopa regarding the parking.
“Scopa should reach out to us and remove the valet parking,” said resident who wanted to remain anonymous. Another resident of Thatcher mentioned that it was getting harder and harder to find a place to park on Thatcher. Perhaps, they are customers of Scopa.
This was mentioned to Antonia and Antonia said valet was cheapest in area at $5.
“Employees have their own parking place next to Sunny Spot or they can park on Washington Blvd or in our lot,” said Antonia. During the day, there are no employees with cars; they ride their bikes or take the bus.
Susan French, whose house backs up to Sunny Spot parking lot, pointed out the sign for the Scopa employees. Asked if she had any problems and she said “absolutely none.”
Antonia meets with all employees east day. During that meeting it is reiterated that employees are not to park on residential streets. All employees have provided license plate numbers as well as make and model of vehicles.
Neighbors must provide license plate number or even a description of the person for Scopa owners to help. Valet is $5 if you dine and $10 if you don’t. Yoga company next door to Scopa does not provide valet.
