Grateful?–3rd Avenue

d. Trash (west side)

d. trash (east side).
Two former residents of 3rd Avenue, who used to try to keep it clean, said “You would think people would be grateful for having a safe place to stay and leave it clean.” These two large piles were left on 3rd Monday morning, one on each side of the street. There were other piles but these were the largest. Fortunately, Councilman Mike Bonin is cleaning up the beach area and 3rd.

I too was a homeless resident in Venice and surrounding areas. I lived on 3rd at points. Though I was different because I was not wrapped into the crazy drunk and drug epidemic. But I try as hard as I could to keep things clean picking up after other homeless throwing garbage away ect.. But it seemed like the residence took their anger out on me more! I would sweep and so much more but residence were becoming extremely hostel an abusive to me. Anyway the point is there are some homeless that don’t want to be and are good people and then there are others that don’t care. They drink and get high make a mess and move on. They don’t even shower or clean themselves. You can tell them apart. I am now safe at home and doing amazing I’ve had a home for almost 8 months now. I am also no longer in my loved Cali anymore. Hope it helps!

I am so very happy for you. It is true that many like you are waiting for facilities. You make it all worth while. Thank you for the input.
