Note: This information is from an email to Robin Rudisill who is handling Scopa for Land Use and Planning.
Jack Chiang, Senior Planner, told Jim Pugh, attorney for Scopa, that he “needs to file new conditional use permit (CUB) for alcohol, project permit for Venice Specific Plan and a Coastal Development Permit for the intensification of the use (change of use from retail to restaurant with alcohol service.)
Pugh told Chiang that he will let applicant decide if he wants to follow through the entitlement process to expand the restaurant or have it stay the same.
Chiang said there is a possible violation of the existing conditional use occurring “where the permit allows for 100 seatings and the site has 140 seating.” Chiang wrote that he had left a voice message with Frank Bush, Building Department Code Enforcement Chief. “He can send an inspector on site to cite any possible violation and issue an order to comply.”
