One common complaint from people who live near Abbot Kinney is that the valets charge customers, keep their lot free of vehicles, and then park in City parking lot. Realize City lot is for all visitors. Parking is so limited and businesses are hurting there on Abbot Kinney if they need parking. Keeping an individual businessman’s lot open at the expense of City parking is not the way to treat one’s fellow businessmen.
According to Amy Alcon who lives in vicinity, valets also park cars on the neighboring streets leaving no place for tenants to park. Unfortunately, the area is filled with bungalows that were not built with parking.
The Westminster school has parking and is in such close proximity to Abbot Kinney that Update feels businessmen should ban together, use school parking lot, and have tram to shuttle back and forth on Abbot Kinney. What a promotion that would be. What a boon to business for Abbot Kinney.
