This is just one small neighborhood near Lincoln and Washington the day after the Fourth of July. After taking these pictures, one wonders what the beach must have looked like. People in this area were told by police that homeless migrate toward Lincoln in the winter because it is warmer. Well, they haven’t left and it is hot.

Radio Shack has been robbed. Ambulances have stopped at Walgreens to carry out people who have overdosed in restroom. But is this not a scene that encourages such?

What happen to preventive policing? Oh, yes, it has been replaced by probability policing? This means if you haven’t had a problem in a designated time span for calculation, then you will not get a patrol now. This has nothing to do with calling in a problem.

We have all stopped calling the senior lead officer and Pacific Division. Even Nim, manager of Radio Shack who was robbed, has stopped calling. Nim just shakes his head at the homeless and the attitude of the police as far as cleaning up the area. Pacific Division is a hold, busy, or a ring. Nim says he can’t stay on hold and police claim they cannot do anything. There is a law that allows sleeping on public property.

Used as toilet paper but not put in trash.

Abandoned stuff.

David says his wife just left him. She is around the neighborhood somewhere. He is from northwest area, mainly Washington State. Rains too much there. The other guys who spent the night on the corner, left him he says, to clean it up.

David sits on curb at Carter. Across the street are single-family homes. Area is not getting better.

Area was cleaned up next day and it is assumed that it was cleaned up by the property owners and the business owners. Around the Oxford Basin, it is assumed that Beaches and Harbors took care of area. They are very responsive.

Homeless have been on property every night since.

Man is captured on camera leaving vacated Thatcher Maintenance Yard. He says he didn’t spend the night there but just wanted to retrieve a roll of white towels he had dropped on other side of fence.

Pedestrian emergency fire gate on Thatcher was broken. This is a violation of a bunch of conditions that are continuously ignored.
