Dennis Hathaway, president of Coalition to Ban Billboard Blight, will give an update regarding the billboard status in Los Angeles. The meet will be held at Glassell Park Community Center, 3750 N. Verdugo Road (public storage building) at 10 am Saturday (12 July). After years of consideration before the City Planning Commission and the Planning and Land Use Management Committee (PLUM), PLUM will put its final touches on the Sign Ordinance and will soon pass it on to the full Council. Since the City Planning Commission’s considerations of the ordinance, many changes have been made and outdoor advertising interests continue to lobby Council members for additional weakening of (changes to?) the Ordinance’s provisions.
