The birds in your Oxford Basin photo are Great Egrets and Snowy Egrets, not Great Blue Herron and the Osprey which do show up but not in the numbers that Egrets do lately.
Comment: Yes, they are Egrets. Herron is near the closest black pipe. It is hard to see.

My on leash dog was killed by an off lease pit bull in 1998. It was the most cruel and horrific attack you can imagine.
Halloween evening I was walking my small on lease dogs when an off lease medium size dog darted towards my dogs. I pulled the dogs to my chest and the off leash dog started attacking me jumping up to my chest. I pulled my dogs up to shoulders and the dog kept jumping on my legs and chest. Another dog walker tried to protect me as much as she could. As the attacking dog had no collar, no one could stop him. Finally the owner came and could not get control of her dog. It took several people to finally catch him.
It makes me wonder that if the people breaking the Lease Law are also breaking other Laws.

Extra Storage Space has been my voting polling place. Due to the fire it is ones responsibility to call the County Recorder/County Clerk where you have been assigned to vote. EXTRA STORAGE ONLY FACILITATES THE COMMUNITY ROOM FOR USE OF COMMUNITY EVENTS. They are not responsible for giving out this type of information. You call the 1800 815 2666, you must give your address and date of birth to get that information yourselves. I had to do this as a responsible voter. It is amazing how I saw people demanding such information from the managers. It is the responsibility of the County Clerk to put up a sign of where to call. This is a County Election. Not a City election. I am a Naturalize Citizen who this country gave the great opportunity to become an American Citizen. I take that responsibility seriously; you should also do the same.
Comment: One resident scheduled to vote at Extra Storage has been notified by postcard to go to Westminster Elementary School.

Regarding Mike Bonin’s comments on the Lawsuit…I hope I’m not showing my ignorance entirely but we do have a few things in place that would assist in keeping parks safe and clean. I do understand that there is a requirement for each new multiple family building to include a certain percentage of affordable housing in its plan. When City B & S approves the plan the correct percentage is in place. When the developer returns for a change in the permit and reduces the number of affordable units, no one is served except the open pockets of those who benefit. The diseases just waiting for their moment are here in Venice from the biohazardous waste just as Ebola is in West Africa. Sad it is that the City could do something about it ahead of time if they and their representatives cared enough. And thanks to Mark Ryavec for keeping it in front of everyone!
