At 6:30 am on Sunday, this Bel-Air boho-looking guy parked his huge schoolbus on our block of Electric Ave, not caring that he took up extra spaces in front and behind the bus, taking up nearly a third of the parking on the street. (In other words, he left about two-thirds of a space to park in front of him and the same behind him).
I told him we had a “no parking vehicles six or over” sign and pointed it out and said I was calling parking enforcement immediately. He didn’t care. Perhaps because he’s rich enough to shrug off tickets.
Well, at least this one will take some of his time because the parking enforcement lady said she couldn’t tell me the amount of his ticket. She said he’d have to call for that amount. I hope they charge by the space taken up!
PS Parking enforcement #: 1-818-374-4823 (then dial 1 and then 2 to avoid hearing recording about what to punch. Sometimes they’ll be busy and you’ll have to hold, but they usually come on fast). Be nice to them. They keep your neighborhood from being overrun by abusers like Mr. “I Park My School bus Wherever I Damn Well Please.”

We appreciate your assistance in bringing attention to the event. We also look forward to ongoing engagement with the community around these issues. As we discussed at the event, there truly are opportunities to change the system for the better, and as community activism continues to gain more momentum that becomes more and more possible.
