Opossums. So, so adorable. We were scaring crows away until she settled. Se walked 30 feet along my fence. One fell off in my side yard. No way for it up cuz no trees at all on my side. I went over to the tiny little thing ( they chirp so mama knows where they are I guess) with an old stuffed animal hopingbitbwould climb on. Eventually I picked it up by the tail, put it on the animal ( earnie from Sesame Street lol) and lifted it up to the vine/trellis where mama was. I wonder what she was thinking! Getting her baby returned to her by this strange two legged creature with blonde hair!!

Just wrote out an internal affairs complaint.

From my complaint to Internal affairs:
Something to consider: Is it possible that this was meant to punish me for complaining about the lackof enforcement of noise laws in Pacific Division?
I have led a contingent of neighbors in complaining about lack of LAPD enforcement of noise laws on a business that consistently violates 115.02 LAMC, which states that a commercial business is prohibited from having amplified sound AT ANY TIME within 500 feet of residences. This business, The Brig, is about 75 feet from the closest residence. After the wonderful Sgt. Bragg retired from Pacific Division, noise laws became a thing for Pacific Division cops to ignore rather than enforce. I went so far as to go to an event at Rand Institute and speak to Chief Beck personally about this, but still, we have booming (illegal) amplified sound that we can hear in our pillows at night.
Munoz, when he’s watch commander, is downright sneeringly disrespectful when I ask him to do something about the illegal amplified sound (audible in my pillow). Sgt. Lurie, as watch commander, said I should “move.” Former Captain Jon Peters held a meeting with my neighbors and me so we could beg the bar owners for our sleep. And Former Captain Brian Johnson just did his best to tell us he’d do something and then ignore the problem. We are hoping for officers to begin their duty of enforcing the law with our new captain, Nicole Alberca. We had the noise lessen recently after I went to our Senator, Ted Lieu, and his aide, Janet, met with the ABC on behalf of my neighborhood.

Update realizes that readers hate links but the LA Times links are so important to what is happening in Venice right now. Los Angeles is blessed with a newspaper that covers stories in such depth. This week there has been an abundance of articles pertinent to Venice.
Don’t forget to read Ryavec’s story about SB608.
It is rumored that House of Blues has leased the Fox Theatre on Lincoln Blvd. It is also rumored that Trader Joe’s is looking for a site on Lincoln.
Pot considered “dangerous drug” akin to LSD and heroin in LA Times story.
