
This is what the Oxford Basin looks like today. Work has started and is scheduled for completion in Spring of 2016.

Work started on the Oxford Basin this month and is scheduled for completion in Spring 2016, according to the first weekly update put out by the Los Angeles Public Works department.
The project is “designed to enhance flood protection and reduce stormwater pollution while improving the quality of the ecosystem within the facility.” The project will also have an illuminated walking path, observation areas and educational signage. Week of June 22, 2015: On-site work continues and new construction fencing is established. For the duration of construction, the sidewalk along the project perimeter on Admiralty Way will be closed to pedestrians and Marvin Braude Bike Path will be narrowed to 8-feet.
Week of June 29, 2015: Soil excavation and hauling begins. Moderate traffic impacts along Washington Boulevard and Admiralty Way between 8 AM and 3:30 PM.
