Thanks for the VNC and WRAC props on the SB 1818 audit. I have to say, the results surprise me.

Please advise the residents of the Oxford Triangle that there has been an up tick of Thefts and Burglary From Motor Vehicles in the area. Please do not leave property of value on your lawn or unsecured and please remove property from vehicles.

I am so fed up with the continuing density issues in the Venice/Marina Del Rey and adjacent areas. Who is the beneficiary of all of this building? Certainly not the residents who have been in the area ten years or more. I live on Redwood Avenue between Maxella and Mindanao. Up the street from me – between Washington Boulevard and Maxella – buildings are being torn down one by one and high density apartments or condo units are taking their place. Really??? Do any of these developers live in the area? Have they had to drive south on Lincoln or Walgrove between the hours of 3pm and 7pm? I would really like to know who received the payoff to allow this to happen. More and more building is also occuring on Glencoe south of Washington and on Del Rey Avenue south of Washington.

If someone can please tell me how this over-building can be stopped I would be happy to listen.

How do we get Walgreens to stop selling (giving) syringes to these homeless drug addicts?
We need to bombard the corporate office with all these photos and stories and demand they do something. An officer at last weeks Venice community meeting at Boys and Girls club said we should start calling Sanitation (daily) so they can come and pick up trash left on bus benches….????

Government to verify all old or new properties, must have, must maintain, must use onsite parking required by code.

In the last election, the Santa Monica Mirror reported: “According to reported results, Garcetti defeated Greuel by more than 26,000 votes. The final tally was 181,955 to 155,497, or 54 percent to 46 percent, in favor of Garcetti.” Mayor Eric Garcetti won the election with 181,955 votes in a City of millions. Greuel lost by 26,458 votes in a city of millions. As Robert Silverstein, land use attorney, said at a recent Hollywood workshop: LA is a City of billionaires with a very low voter turnout – thus it’s easy for special interests to influence the City.

The linked article below proposes changes needed to make LA a world-class City in the long-term. Perhaps some lawyers with integrity need to gather together and work on changing the status-quo with possible future mayoral and City Council candidates. Is Ed Rucker interested in gathering a team of like-minded lawyers? Maybe one candidate is Burt Ross. He’s retired and living in Malibu. At age 25, he was the Mayor of Fort Lee, New Jersey and turned down a huge bribe from the Mob to get their project through. Yes, his life was threatened. He had to go into hiding. He wore a wire. You can read about it in “The Bribe.” Where can we find a “Burt Ross?”

Please read this excellent article on why our City is NOT working well for its residents, and how we can change that. In my opinion, all Venetians (and Angelenos) need to read it.

Saturday at 3:30 while walking down Thatcher I saw two people using the pedestrian fire gate from the Jefferson apartments. Clearly, the manager has no intention of stopping this behavior.

A few moments later I saw a white Prius stopped on Thatcher in front of the Princeton fire gate. The passenger got out and unlocked the fire gate. The driver drove through from Thatcher onto Princeton. Then the passenger relocked the fire gate and got back into the Prius. I ran over and photographed the Prius as it drove east on Princeton (attached photos including the license plate number).

I then discovered that someone had cut one of the links on the chain that secures the fire gate and added their own padlock (attached photo of the illegal Master padlock between the chain and the Fire Department padlock). As you can see, the unauthorized padlock allows people to come and go as they please through the fire gate.

I’m dismayed and disappointed about the repeated violations. What can we do?
