Mounds of dirt started appearing at the Venice/Ocean/Mildred corner and workers started moving it around.
Years ago Robin Murez was awarded a Los Angeles Beautification Grant to create a corner park at Venice/Ocean/Mildred. But an owner east of property claimed it was his property. City forced the adjacent owner to remove his illegal fence that enclosed the public space. The enclosure of that area also created a blind intersection at Mildred/Ocean.
Looks suspiciously like it is Robin Murez’s design being implemented. If it is, it replicates the ballpark that was in Venice during the Abbot Kinney years. Venice was home to one of the original pro baseball teams in the United States–The Venice Tigers.
