Friday Santa Monica put out the sign that says “No Electric Scooter Zone. It’s the Law. The lower two lines say “Motorized Scooters Are Prohibited on Santa Monica Beach Bike Path, Sidewalks, and Parks.” The sign was posted on the bike path heading north into Santa Monica from Venice.
Sunday … Parking lot for scooters on the Venice side, partly on the right of way and partly on private property.
This needs to be addressed. It is a mess and an eyesore.

It is amazing to me how ineffective Mike Bonin is and how he really doesn’t care.
What’s even more amazing is that he’s held accountable for nothing.
No reaction to the Santa Monica action.
Zero.
Making believe he got arrested while the homeless roam the boardwalk and occupy the Venice Pier is almost surreal.
Elections do have consequences and you have a six-figure career politician on the dime and he does virtually whatever he wants or more correctly plays Nero as Venice burns.
What part of this am I not getting?
And here is a good post script. Some entity, and I’d like to know who, had this entire nest of scooters cleaned up by 4:30 PM on Sunday! A few are back now at 7:15 but it is nothing compared to earlier. What a nice surprise! Keep it up please and tell us who to thank.
Birds are collected at night by free-lance “chargers” who Bird pays to collect and recharge the scooters, and then redistribute them around in the morning.
