Junoc Visits Triangle

Bird

This unusual feathered guy was seen in Triangle recently.  Diane Spurlin, of Presidents Row association and resident bird identifier, was contacted.  She said “This is a male Dark-eyed Junco (Oregon variety). (Note, one cannot see an eye.)  I’ve never seen any around here, but you’ll see an occasional one at the fresh-water marsh (corner of Jefferson and Lincoln) and they’re plentiful anywhere along the trails in the Santa Monica Mountains.
