Bike path is county’s responsibility. Department of Public Works. Have called and will go down today to see if it is better. The path is done twice a week but it was so bad day photo was taken that it is doubtful that path was properly maintained.
Just got back and path is better but, as Nick says, the berms contain the sand and the sweeper does not remove that much sand.
The issue is the east side of the bike path where the grassy knolls have deteriorated beyond repair. The responsibility is with the City of Los Angeles, not LA County. Those knolls are city responsibility and the maintenance has been zero for now nearly a decade! No longer grassy or green, the 11th Council District Office has deemed the remediation not a council office priority by it’s former district representative Castillo per her comments at an OFW Committee meeting I attended as well as Neighborhood Committee meeting and an AD Com meeting. This problem has now become so obvious and dangerous it can no longer be masked and ignored.
