Nanette Pastor-Hanna who does the Mar Vista E-Blast and did this schedule has this to say about the 4th of July fireworks …
Last night there were lots of firecrackers exploding on Sawtelle. It always happens this time of year. Lots of people thought it was gunshots. You know how loud they sound to us; imagine how loud they sound to our dogs with their super-duper hearing. It really scares them! Mine were all freaking out last night!
So, a reminder. Please keep your dogs safely inside your homes until the Independence Day celebrations are over. I’ve known many people to lose their furry loved ones during this season!
Santa Monica College – Saturday, June 25 | 5pm | Free | Corsair Stadium
The biggest, most sensational patriotic community event on the Westside! Bring your family and friends to SMC for a star-spangled salute to our nation’s independence. Come early, picnic on the lawn, enjoy continuous entertainment and special exhibits (with plenty of refreshments available for purchase), and cap off the evening with a spectacular fireworks salute to America.

Marina del Rey – Monday, July 4th – 9 p.m.
Fireworks are shot from a barge across the Marina’s main channel. Burton Chace Park located at 13650 Mindanao Way, and Fisherman’s Village located at 13755 Fiji Way, are premier locations for viewing the pyrotechnic extravaganza. Spectators at Burton Chace Park and Fisherman’s Village can watch the display and listen to synchronized music played over loudspeakers.
