The last known surviving Venice Gondola that use to “sprint” where the asphalt is now in front of it just keeps getting better. The latest is Christmas landscaping by Russ Cletta and just in time for the Venice Sign Lighting ceremony.
This started out as a joint effort of the Venice Historical Society and the Venice Stakeholders Association to preserve this piece of Venice history. People have come along and volunteered their help. Stewart Oscars restored the gondola and painted it. A bunch of guys helped put it in place and on a platform.
Actually Randy Maki painted the gondola.
