- Next Sunday will be the Abbot Kinney Festival starting at 10 am.
- Next Sunday will also be the 14th annual Herbalife Triathlon with approximately 3,000 athletes from all over the world converging on Venice Beach early. Beach swim starts at 6:50 am. Eastbound Venice Blvd will be closed from 6 am to approximately 10 am when the Abbot Kinney Festival is scheduled to begin.
The Triathlon committee says that the reopening of Venice Blvd. will start rolling from the beach at approximately 9:05 am. The Triathlon will begin with the swimming portion at Venice Beach at 6:50 am and will exit Venice Beach on bicycles headed for the Nokia Plaza for the third leg, which is running.
Triathlon will be using Venice Blvd to Fairfax to Olympic and then to Nokia Plaza.
