Saturday’s marathon called, according to smiling ballerina, the Venice-Santa Monica Annual Holiday Marathon. Ballerina says it’s been going on for 36 years. Yes, it is raining on their parade. Venice, Abbot Kinney, Pacific were blocked off. Supposedly a 5- and 10-K run.
Officer Tameta Umi standing at the Venice Blvd-Venice Way intersection added the 5- and 10- run info and added that the alley just west of Venice Way before Mildred had no one-way sign. She said she had turned 17 cars off Venice Blvd. going the wrong way. It was 8 am. Below is the sign posted across the street but viewed up close. One cannot tell what sign says from the alley before entering Venice. Perhaps, an additional one-way sign at each alley and a new sign across street for sure. Mentioned to officer that Venice doesn’t do dual signage and she smiled and shook her head and said “They do downtown.” Officer
