Orson Bean adds a little soft shoe to the act.
Mr. Broadway, Mr. TV, but best of all Venice’s own Mr. Scrooge comes back once again to delight young and old in his adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”
The invitation from the First Lutheran Church says come early. “If you get there on time, you will be sitting in the back room,” said one fan. If you’ve seen it before, it won’t matter, Scrooge will still delight you.”
Orson Bean has not done Scrooge at the church for the past four years. When he did it before, there was standing room only. Thursday night was dress rehearsal and they brought in inner city children.
As the flyer says, the performance is free, no collection. “It’s our Christmas gift to you,” from the First Lutheran Church of Venice.
