Will an astronaut drop a straight-edge ruler in your hand to demonstrate hand-eye coordination? Will you start an agility course face down? Or will you go straight to the space walk?
“Train Like an Astronaut” is the marquee event to be held Saturday, February 22 from 2 to 6 pm at the Westminster Elementary School, 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd.
Astronaut, Dr. Peggy Whitson and a team of experts from the Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas will be on hand to teach kids and adults (parents and community members included) how to “Train Like an Astronaut.” Program includes nutrition and exercise information.
Astronaut Peggy Whitson was the first female commander of the International Space Station and has completed two space expeditions. She will lead the various events.
The program is meant to promote accomplishments and opportunities for research aboard the International Space Station and inspire a younger generation of space lovers.
