Election rally for signing up Venice Neighborhood Council (VNC) candidates, for declared candidates, for outgoing members will be Saturday, 1 to 3 pm, at Penmar Recreation Center, 1341 Lake Street.
This rally will include music, dancing, and the famous Venice Barbeque Team cooking the “election” hotdog.
Do you want to make a change in Venice? This is your chance. The complete 21-member board is being recast. “It’s Your Venice-Get Involved!” That is the motto for this year’s Venice Neighborhood Council election.
Deadline for candidates to file is 3 April. The last candidate get together will be 22 March, 1 to 3 pm, at the Venice Library, 501 Venice Blvd. Election is 18 May. Applications will be available and present members will answer questions. Applications also can be obtained at empowerLA.org/elections.
Last year the VNC had more votes cast than any of the other 95 neighborhood councils in the city.
