Linda Lucks, president of Venice Neighborhood Council, qualified “perceived impropriety” regarding removing the 320 Sunset hearing from Land Use and Planning Committee (LUPC) to the Venice Neighborhood Council (VNC).
President Linda Lucks met at the Land Use and Planning Committee Wednesday night to say that she was not going to allow LUPC to hear the 320 Sunset case but that the Venice Neighborhood Council would hear it 20 May at the VNC meet. Her reasoning was that there were “perceived improprieties” regarding the hearing.
When asked what were the “perceived improprieties,” regarding not allowing LUPC to hear 320 Sunset, she wrote: “After receiving complaints from the applicant and members of the community about perceived conflicts of interest/improprieties of more than one LUPC member, I conferred with appropriate people to ensure my authority, and then I made the decision to send this project directly to the board for their consideration. The VNC Board makes the ultimate decision anyway.” She said she would not name names.
