Family of Alice Gruppioni, who was struck and killed by a car on the Ocean Front Walk boardwalk 3 August 2013, is suing the City and the County. The claim is that both failed to provide adequate protection for pedestrians on the boardwalk. LA Times article.
Argonaut this week reported that three citizens Joanna Botton, Nancy Martinez and Jose Enrique are also suing the city for creating “dangerous conditions.”
Dudley Avenue, which is shown above, is where the accused driver Nathan Campbell entered the boardwalk. He entered on wrong side of Dudley Avenue, went over sidewalk curb, and drove on the sidewalk on the right, knocking down displays (according to one witness) to get onto the boardwalk.
