Washington Boulevard will be one lane each way, from 6 am to 6 pm, both tomorrow and Sunday.
Councilman Mike Bonin explained that Washington Blvd will be getting a “Street Lift” this weekend as part of an overall plan for Los Angeles to make areas more friendly, more presentable.
As a result Washington Blvd will be closed, or have only one lane open each way, from 6 am to 6 pm, both Saturday and Sunday this week. The plan is to resurface the boulevard and plant some trees. Three trees have already been planted on the south side of the street in the first block of the beach.
Three Street Services crews will combine to get the work done in time and create the least disruption. Trees will be planted and four streets shown will get major size crosswalks. There will be temporary stripping provided. Permanent stripping will come later.
