Land Use and Planning committee approved some projects, disapproved others.
The project at 1620 Electric was rescheduled to next LUPC, which would be 2 September, and it was stated that Kim’s Market, which is at 600 Mildred, will be heard in September.
AT&T representative stated that they had listened to what the neighbors wanted and were redesigning their projects at 1515 Pacific and 737 Washington. Prior to this time AT&T has skirted the local process. Robin Rudisill, chair of LUPC, said she had talked with planning about making sure the projects were 1) valid design changes before scheduling hearings and 2) going thru the local Venice Neighborhood Council process. AT&T was the last to be heard and it was past 10:30 pm.
The twin, single-lot subdivision projects at 665 Vernon and 672 Brooks were heard. The projects were making their third pass. First time, architect was asked to come back and show façade differences, shade study, density in neighborhood, landscape plans. Second time, architect waited but committee ran out of time. Third time, which was last night, one passed and the other did not. Brooks at 672 was approved. 665 Vernon had a problem with shading, size, lack of two stories in neighborhood, and construction.
Whole Foods Market loading ramp installation was passed with 15 conditions.
Locali restaurant at 701 Lincoln wanted to have onsite sale of beer and wine for inside the restaurant from 8 to 10 pm. This was passed unanimously.
