KCBS-TV had a report on crime situation in Venice on 11 pm news Tuesday. Both Councilman Mike Bonin and Mark Ryavec, president of the Venice Stakeholders Association, were interviewed. Both agreed not enough has been done for Venice. Councilman Mike Bonin has asked for extra police. Neither the Councilman nor the KCBS reporter have received response from Chief Charlie Beck. Venice Stakeholders Association is suing the City for lack of enforcing the laws.
Two graphic home invasions are shown on the clip.

When will Bonin be held accountable for his inability to fight crime?
Councilman Bonin and Mr. Ryavec seem to agree on little, as Mr. Ryavec had seriously thought about challenging Bonin two years ago only to drop out.
The fact is Bonin is trying to make political lemonade out of lemons as it becomes obvious more and more he has little sway or influence over the operations and deployment of the LAPD.
All the PR stunts and deflections in the world don’t change the fact this is a seriously ineffective elected official as OFW continues to deteriorate on his watch.
This is what happens when an at-risk incumbent abruptly leaves the race for his chief of staff which freezes the field and produces nominal, underfunded opposition.
Now you have this incumbent already with his eyes on another office, but clearly unable to excel at the job at hand.
All the Proclamations and press releases in the world won’t change the fact he’s ineffective and unable to get the job done.
