I have been walking on the beach and pier every morning and today was a divine gift! I was at the end of Venice pier enjoying the glassy, calm water because of Santa Ana conditions. Suddenly there were dolphins and very close to the pier! Extraordinary right? Well then add in sea lions….. Then toward the end of the pier I hear a loud breath. I turn and two whales were surfacing. Barnacles and all. If I had jumped off the pier right then I could have ridden on them! All these years living here and I’ve barely seen dolphins less than a dozen of times. And all of these amazing creatures to be present simultaneously at the Venice pier of all places was absolutely extraordinary and certainly divine.
