Music in the Air: A Woodwind Quintet
Friday, December 13, 2019, 7 – 8pm
Welcome to Masters in the Chapel. Our 2019-2020 season begins with a woodwind quintet featuring Susan Greenberg, flute; Jonathan Davis, oboe; Sergio Coelho, clarinet; Amy Jo Rhine, horn; and Judith Farmer, bassoon.
This stellar group of musicians perform separately with the best orchestras in town including the LA Philharmonic and the LA Opera Orchestra. They come together to bring us a glorious concert of works created for a quintet of wind instruments. The performance will include:
Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) 3 Pièces brèves
Carl Nielsen (1865-1931) Wind Quintet in A Major, OP 43
Todd Mason (b. 1957) Wind Quintet
Los Angeles composer Todd Mason will be present to introduce his composition.
Come and enjoy an hour of music performed in the beauty and acoustic excellence of the chapel. Our concerts are offered to the community free of charge thanks to the generosity of our donors, so bring your friends and neighbors too.
Masters in the Chapel will start next month at the FirstLutheran Church in Venice, 815 Venice Blvd.
This 4-concert, music series runs from December – March, and presents world-class music performed in the beauty and acoustic excellence of our chapel. Every concert is offered free of charge to the community, thanks to the generous donations of our supporters.
We are raising funds now for the 2018-2019 season. Everyone that works to present the series is a volunteer, so 100% of your donation goes to the musicians.
Won’t you help us fill the chapel with music, friends and neighbors? Donations are accepted.
