“Spirit of Venice” Awards Went to Four

Winners of the Spirit of Venice awards were Elisa James, Regina Weller, Steven Weller (posthumously), and Marianne Brown. Regina Weller accepted the award for her husband Steven Weller who passed away earlier this month. The awards were presented at the annual Abbot Kinney Festival on Abbot Kinney Blvd Sunday.

Four Receive “Spirit of Venice Award”

The Abbot Kinney Blvd was packed Sunday for another Abbot Kinney Festival.

Four received the Abbot Kinney Festival “Spirit of Venice Award” this year.

Challis Macpherson, former chair of Land Use and Planning Committee, received it posthumously. The other three were Sue Kaplan, who is the unofficial mayor of Oakwood and who is in charge of guidelines for mass, scale, and character; Edizen Stowell, co-founder of Venice Paparazzi; Cecilla Castillo, former Venice representative from Council office.

Edizen Stowell, who takes photos of everyone did not have her photo taken by Venice Update!!!! Cecilla Castillo is not shown either.
