Homelessness comes in many different packages. In Venice at Venice Beach, one of the prevalent types is the young “traveller” who is experiencing the beach scene. He comes from who-knows-where. He wants to join the “revolution of the free” and do drugs or drink or both … try belligerence. He sleeps in doorways, alleys, sidewalks. Many times he joins a group. Perhaps, he feels there is safety in numbers. This person feels it is important to his/her growth. Sometimes the traveller stays and becomes a Venice fixture.
