Saturday–
- Venice Neighborhood Council invites community leaders and friends to meet Mayor Eric Garcetti Saturday at the Oakwood Recreation Center, 7th and California, starting at 9:30 am. Coffee will be served. Mayor Garcetti will continue his walking tour in Venice and then all activity will culminate at the recreation center with a BBQ provided by the Mayor’s office.
- LAPD, Pacific Division’s Pancake Breakfast/ Open House Saturday 9 to noon. Open house is free; pancake breakfast costs $5 per person and includes a ticket for a raffle. Specialized units and all-terrain vehicles will be on display as well as a safety booth from the California Highway Patrol and a display by Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Members of LAPD, Venice’s Fire Department 63, LA County lifeguards, and staff from the Department of Public Health. Proceeds go to the Pacific Area Boosters Association.
Sunday–
- Westside Regional Alliance of Councils will feature Rocky Wiles. He will speak on the Code Complaince Unit (CCU) that the Department of Planning has recently funded. Scope of CCU “is to ensure compliance with all entitlement conditions of approval,” etc. Meet will be held Sunday at the Westside Municipal Building at 1645 Corinth Ave., 9 to 10:30 am. (Entrance in rear of building-up the ramp and to the left.)
