Note:This was written last night, and this morning, a couple of them were back. Well, gone for a day.
The Carter encampment is finally gone as of Monday morning after couple weeks. The panhandler representing himself as a Marine was also gone this morning.
The encampment had been sleeping in the front of the empty store in Walgreens shopping center and seemed harmless at first. But the group kept growing in size and became the meeting place for many. It was certainly the place for a morning-before-sunrise refresher.
The group spread out during the day and panhandled in front of Walgreens doors until told to leave and around the West side of building. The supposed Marine was panhandling on the north side of Walgreens on Washington. So to get to Walgreens became less inviting. Looks like it is safe again to go to Walgreens and take the kids.
Now we have a motor home on Yale and the resident apparently exposed himself to a worker. Situation has been reported to police.
