Update is a great fan of app MyLA311. As a consequence Update has eliminated three mattresses, one ping-pong table, and foliage from stop sign. See Laurel Polson’s praise for MyLA311 under Comments.
Well, now there is MyLADOT. You must input an internet address but it acts as an app. Soon it will be phone app too.
Type in MyLADOT.lacity.org in your browser. A map will appear with the words “I want…” Hit it and the easy, app form will appear. The other night the Update asked for limit lines at Thatcher, Yale, Stanford, and Carter where it says “Keep Clear.” Perhaps, the city will no longer do limit lines but they used to be there and it benefits all when they are there.
Normally, to ask for something like this takes time. With the telephone system 311, they connect you but what happens in many cases is, and it is still better than before, you can get “please hold,” terrible music, “will get back to you,” “will let you know,” “please contact,” “you have the wrong number.” It goes on and on.
These apps are explicit and you get a work number that is traceable. In the case of MyLA311, they have hired more operators to route the requests. Now we need an app for housing (more than one unit) violations.
