Sign says demolition of SFR at 57 – 69 Windward. The structures built by actress Angelica Huston and designed by her late husband and sculptor Robert Graham sold for $11 plus million last year. New owners.
Does this mean the arches will return and the structure will fit with the character of the street?

My husband & I were so disappointed the new building the Graham-Hustons constructed at the site didn’t even offer the slightest architectural reference to the historic arches — something that has been done so creatively with modern architecture elsewhere. Several years later, I had the chance to ask our neighbor, Steven Graham, Bob’s son and apparently the architect for the project, about this. In reply to my query, Steven assured me he had referenced the arches. “How?” I asked, a bit confused. He responded the pop-out on the second story was his reference to the arches.
Really, that large vertical mass of corrugated steel overhanging the sidewalk? (Say, what?!)

Do you have a picture of the arches I don’t remember the arches thank you very much
They looked like the other arches on Windward. History books will show one the arches on both sides of Windward from Pacific west to the Speedway. Hope this answers your question.
[…] A few weeks ago Update ran article that showed a demolition permit for 57-69 Windward with the question would the arches return. See Update. […]
Wouldn’t that be amazing! I had heard Graham was supposed to reinstall the arches as part of his original building permit, not sure if that is true or not,but seems like any new permit should be subject to the same requirement.
