Record Voting for VNC Candidates

line
The lines at Oakwood Recreation Center did not stop.

Voting for the 2016 Venice Neighborhood Council (VNC) election set an all time record for Venice and for all the Los Angeles Neighborhood Councils. More than 2700 people registered to vote today. The ballots will be counted tomorrow by the City. No one will know who won for each office until the machine count and at that time one will get an official ballot count.

The 2014 election VNC had 1545 votes cast and that was 77 less than the previous election of 2012.

Boy. Did those developers do an excellent job or what? Did you notice all those people standing in line with chocolate boxes that were filled with the money they had been paid to vote? Will the smell of sour grapes linger in the air? I can hardly wait until they announce the results of the coup. Or maybe that’s how democracy actually works…people show up to vote because they care about the issues at hand.
