The Venice Community Housing Corporation (VCHC) and Hollywood Community Housing Corporation ((HCHC) are the co-developrs of the proposed 140 units homeless housing project on the Venice Blvd. “median.” The City refers to as the Venice-Dell-Pacific site. This is same project that Venice Update calls the Venice Median.
The VCHC/HCHC recently changed its name to Reese Davison Community.
A little background:
1. Sept. 15, 2016. VCHC / HCHC submitted to the City their Request for Qualifications / Proposals (RFQ/P) for a Affordable Housing Opportunity Site called “Venice-Dell-Pacific.”
2. Dec. 2016. Their RFQ/P was approved. Unfortunately for the Venice Canals community they refused numerous requests to release the Plans that were submitted.
3. Jan 11/12, 2017 The co-developers signed a two year Exclusive Agreement with the City of Los Angeles (see below). Sixteen months later and they still have NOT made the project Plans public. The Agreement terminates on Jan 2, 2019 unless it is extended.
4. March 2018They published a Project Overview with an “Approximate Timeline” (see below). Still no plans.

Someone should file an freedom of information act request with LA city. Seems unlikely the developers have not shared anything with the city either.
We have. They stonewall.
