If you were at the Venice Beach or on Ocean Front Walk (OFW) Labor Day weekend, you saw police. There was an evident police presence throughout Venice but none more so than around Ocean Front Walk.
The police were on bicycles, motorcycles, in squad cars, on foot, horseback and this was just at the side streets entering Ocean Front Walk. On Ocean Front Walk they had various beach buggies as well as squad cars at the police substation. Squad cars and police on bikes were going up and down Speedway throughout the day.
Near the end of the day, and end of the Labor Day weekend, horses dropped officers off at Cold Stone Creamery. Sign said “party time,” and maybe they, meaning horses, were ready for a cold one–ice cream, of course.
